Parkview reports January pupil counts, approves early-retirement notification extension
Summary
The district reported January counts — 128 open-enrolled in, 150 open-enrolled out and 874 resident students — and approved an early-retirement plan adjustment allowing staff to notify intent through March 11 for one year.
At the Feb. 16 meeting the Business Manager presented the district's January pupil-count reconciliation: 128 open-enrolled IN students, 150 open-enrolled OUT students, and 874 resident students. The figures were included in the Business Manager’s report and recorded in the minutes.
The board also approved a set of 2025–2026 early-retirement plan provisions intended to improve notice procedures. As part of that approval the board endorsed adopting a schedule for sending notices to staff and granted a one-year extension allowing employees to notify the district of intent to retire through March 11 (the proposal was moved by Jennie Krajeck, seconded by Kerrie Schmidt and passed unanimously, Yea: 7, Nay: 0). The minutes list related items including a resignation/retirement waiver release and timeline work to operationalize the change.
