Parents tell CFISD board Ten Commandments posters amount to indoctrination; board accepts comments

Multiple speakers used their citizen‑participation time to criticize proposed or posted Ten Commandments‑style classroom posters and to press for clearer guidance for teachers and parents. One speaker asked why parents must "opt in" for certain topics such as sex‑education but apparently cannot opt out of religious material; another said the posters "are indeed indoctrination" and urged the district to provide clear directions to staff on how to respond to student and parent questions.

Board members acknowledged speakers' concerns and a point of order was called during one comment, but the public speakers were allowed to continue within agenda parameters. Trustees said policy revisions are posted for first reading and will return on the schedule for second reading; public input on these matters will be part of the ongoing policy review.
