The School District of South Milwaukee Board approved payment of $1,889,318.15 in bills and a set of staffing changes as part of a revised consent agenda on May 20.
"Moved by Ellis and seconded by Hansen that the Board approve the revised Consent Agenda as follows," the transcript records. The consent agenda included adoption of the agenda, approval of bills for payment in the amount of $1,889,318.15, and staffing actions that listed four teacher resignations effective June 11, 2026; a revision of one staff member's FTE from 1.0 to 0.80 for the 2026–27 school year; and hires for the 2026–2027 school year.
Resignations recorded in the minutes include Kristi Biloff (elementary teacher), Grace Karman (elementary teacher), Andrea Velazquez (MS instructional coach) and Kristen Joachim (HS art teacher). The minutes also note a FTE revision for Jane Litzenberg, speech and language pathologist, from 1.0 to 0.80, and hires including Carly Hawes, Amanda McRae, Chloe Hoffman, Katherine Eaton and Rebecca Reiche for the 2026–27 school year.
The board also approved on third reading revised policies 175 (School District Meetings), 621 (Budget Process), 761 (Food Service Management) and 762 (Free and Reduced Price Meals), and adopted new policies 667 (Fraud Prevention and Reporting), 734 (Indoor Environmental Quality Management) and 735 (Asbestos Management). The consent agenda vote carried 6‑0 by roll call.
After the consent vote, the board separately approved the minutes from the May 6, 2026 meeting. That vote passed 5‑0 with one abstention (DeFord).
