Elementary principal highlights Winter Fun Day, Blue Ribbon visit and new special-education para

Rita Platt, elementary school principal, told the Saint Croix Falls School District Board that students enjoyed a Winter Fun Day on Feb. 13 that included stations across the building and an Olympic-style opening ceremony. "On 2/13 we had a wonderful Winter Fun Day," Platt said, and noted students are participating in a Winter Olympic Reading Challenge.
Platt said a delegation from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, including Dr. Jill Underly, will visit the elementary school on Feb. 26 to celebrate the school's Blue Ribbon status. She also announced that Cassandra Rehberg began work that day as a special-education paraprofessional, bringing prior para experience to the role. The principal reminded the board that the second trimester ends Friday and that report cards and award ceremonies are forthcoming.
