Superintendent highlights AP growth; district staff honored for Kids Heart Challenge

Superintendent Deidre Roemer used her July 15 report to highlight student and staff achievements. She said AP participation increased by 51 students and the district administered 106 more AP exams this year, bringing the totals to 271 students completing 453 exams; the reported AP passing rate was 58.30% compared with 59.55% previously.
Roemer also recognized staff and school communities for extracurricular and service efforts: David Scott was named the Wisconsin Substitute of the Year for 2025–26, and Kevin Maher, David Hellrung and Lee Waechter were thanked for implementing the Kids Heart Challenge across Rawson, Lakeview and Blakewood elementaries, which collectively raised $5,256 for the American Heart Association.
The superintendent credited teachers and leaders for the AP growth and steady pass rates and thanked staff for community fundraising that supports student health programs.
