Middle School Principal Kris Wallace told the board that seventh- and eighth-grade students participated in a meal-packing event with Feed My Starving Children and conducted a fundraising challenge that raised more than $1,500 for the foundation. "Our sixth graders were our top grade for the change drive and will get a special prize next week," Wallace said. The effort was led by Mr. Torres, whom Wallace thanked for spearheading the activity.
Wallace also reported staffing activity: interviews for a middle school special education position and a 6th-grade math position are scheduled for the coming Monday and Tuesday, with the district aiming to bring new staff on board for next school year.
