Superintendent: Yondr cell-phone restriction communications underway; preliminary budget to be presented next week

Superintendent Deidre Roemer told the board the district has started communications about a new Yondr-based cell phone restriction ahead of the school year.
"We sent out the first communication about Yondr punches and the cell phone restriction this week. We have letters, reminders, and social media posts happening each week until the start of school to help everyone prepare for this change," Roemer reported.
Roemer also said the administration is finalizing the 2025-26 budget and preparing for the annual audit by an outside firm, which will review accounts and internal controls. She noted the preliminary 2026-27 budget will be presented next week and the public annual meeting is scheduled for Sept.16, when the public can comment on the fiscal plan.
