Trappe receives $2.6 million RACP installment; firehouse closeout work continues

Council heard a status update on the borough’s RACP-funded firehouse project and related capital work. Borough Engineer (Isett) told council that Payment Request #1 — $2,597,344 — had been approved by the Office of the Budget and that "the first Installment of $2,597,344 was received on October 7, 2025." The engineer also said Payment Request #2 for $849,531 remains under review by the Office of the Budget.

Construction follow-ups remain. Contractor Gorski will perform an inspection to address a cold joint in the slab between the apparatus bay and the administrative side after one year has passed; Gorski coordinated a roof repair completed in early August and reported that an outlet structure was sealed and 10 square feet of disturbed area were reseeded. Isett said the Sisca Community Park closeout is pending contractor final documents and DCNR review.

Council did not take additional votes on the firehouse at the meeting but received these administrative and financial updates. The payment timing note from the Office of the Budget — that release from the treasury can take up to eight weeks after approval — remains relevant to the borough’s cashflow planning.
