Board acknowledges athletic director resignation and hires co‑directors; approves volunteer coach and sports partnership

The board acknowledged Athletic Director Ashley Nichols’ resignation effective Dec. 19, 2025; approved Lisa Megown and Amanda Younkin as co‑Athletic Directors effective Dec. 20, 2025 with prorated salary; approved volunteer coach Luke Bowers pending clearances; and authorized Turkeyfoot student participation in the Clay Sports Club with Uniontown Area School starting 2025–2026.
At its Jan. 8 meeting, the Turkeyfoot Valley Area School District Board acknowledged the resignation of Athletic Director Ashley Nichols effective end of day Dec. 19, 2025, and approved hiring Lisa Megown and Amanda Younkin as co‑Athletic Directors to share duties and salary prorated effective Dec. 20, 2025. The hiring motion was moved by Frankie Ryan and seconded by Gerald Conn; all members present voted in the affirmative.
The board also approved Luke Bowers as a bona fide volunteer boys baseball coach for the 2026 season, pending required clearances and paperwork. Separately, the board approved a cooperative participation opportunity allowing Turkeyfoot students to join the Clay Sports Club program run by Uniontown Area School beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, to continue until the district chooses another alignment or develops its own program.
