Tampa Bay Water approves ~$2.1M settlement to acquire easements from Fishhawk CDD

The board approved a settlement to acquire seven permanent and two temporary easements from the Fishhawk Community Development District for a little over $2.1 million to support the South Hillsborough pipeline project.
Kelly Fernandez, Tampa Bay Water general counsel, asked the board to approve a negotiated settlement with the Fishhawk Community Development District for seven permanent and two temporary easements needed for the South Hills pipeline.
"The amount of this settlement is a little over 2.1 million, and this was negotiated and recommended by our special counsel, Greg Robinson," Fernandez said. The board approved the settlement unanimously (mover: Commissioner Eggers; seconder: Commissioner Wostal).
Staff told the board this represents the most property obtained from any single parcel owner for the project and that property-acquisition costs for segment B have increased compared with initial estimates; staff said segment B's property costs are now estimated at approximately $11.4 million when aggregated with other acquisitions.
