Football, softball lights operational; turf and drainage work nearly complete

District staff updated the board that athletic-field lighting installations for the football and softball fields are complete and the systems now allow coaches to start and stop lights through a controller linked to the school's hard line.

"lights are burning now," the presenter reported, noting the team had to hard-wire the controller because cellular reception at the site was unreliable. Staff said work on the baseball field lighting will start the following week and that the elementary turf installation handled recent rain well thanks to added under-drain tile; the contractor still needs to finish seams and spread sand and expected to complete that work by the end of the week or the following Saturday.

Board members were told warranty coverage is available for any post-installation issues and facilities staff encouraged staff and coaches to report seam or edge problems so the contractor can address them under warranty. The presenter also reported small remaining tasks around the basketball court and fencing that will be completed in coordination with other fall work.
