Board approves 2025–26 budget revisions including $1.688 million transfer to capital fund

District financial staff presented a slate of budget amendments for the 2025–26 fiscal year and asked trustees to accept the changes to properly reflect transfers and carryover expenses.

According to the presentation, the package includes a transfer of approximately $1,688,000 from the general fund to fund 27 to match an expense with a corresponding income line, a reduction in the OPED benefit line to $83,000 after reconciling actuals, inclusion of previously omitted debt-service numbers, and carryover of capital-project expenses into fund 49 for purchases paid in early 2026. "I would make a motion that we accept the changes into record as presented," said the staff member presenting the item. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the amendments by voice vote.

The presenter told the board the changes were prompted by spreadsheet linkage errors that omitted debt-service lines in the original budget document and direction from the auditors (CliftonLarsonAllen) on where certain items should be moved to produce a balanced set of funds. The district said further journal entries could be required after the annual audit is finalized.
