Darlington board accepts $6,010 in community donations for student programs
Summary
The board accepted eight donations totaling $6,010 to student activity and needy student accounts, including $3,000 from Gale Force Education (KidWind) and $1,000 anonymous support for negative lunch accounts.
During the Dec. 17 meeting the board unanimously accepted multiple donations to student activity and needy-student accounts. Motions by Matt Crist, seconded by Stauffacher, carried for the following gifts: $60 from Darlington United Methodist Church; $100 from Jill Ringen; $300 from the Bank of New Glarus; $50 from Steve and Kristine Brunkow; $1,000 from an anonymous donor for negative lunch accounts; $200 from American Legion Post 214 to the DEMS Needy Student account; $1,300 from Glennie’s LLC for service-learning Rosie Bags; and $3,000 from Gale Force Education (KidWind) to the KidWind account. The donations total $6,010.
Board members thanked donors in the minutes via the standard motion language. The donations are recorded to specific student activity accounts and will be used for service-learning projects, student assistance and the KidWind STEM account.
