District authorizes contractor payment; guard-shack work expected Dec. 5

The board approved Payment No. 6 for general-contractor fees for the district's additions and administration building work, with the packet listing Peacock General Construction and an amount shown as 253,779. Construction consultant David Mia (Gomez Mendes Science) briefed trustees on progress: the guard shack is nearly complete with only final counter and AC connections pending, and staff expect a punch-list and closeout after the Thanksgiving holiday with a target completion date of Dec. 5.

For the main administration addition, exterior metal framing, sheathing and roofing work are underway, and crews have started interior rough-ins. Staff reported ongoing drainage work to address flooding before parking-lot grading; the project was about three weeks behind schedule because of early weather and cladding issues, with the addition's completion estimated around Feb. 25 if the contractor recovers time.

Trustees asked for clarification about security and internet access at the guard shack (for Raptor checks); staff confirmed conduits were run and internet/security will be available. The motion to approve the payment was made and carried.
