Watertown USD welcomes 25 new certified staff; first contract day set for Aug. 24

District staff told the HR committee on Aug. 17 that 25 newly hired certified staff began orientation at Watertown High School that morning, receiving technology setup, benefits enrollment and mentor assignments.
"We welcome um 25 new staff members, certified staff members this morning at um the Watertown High School," a staff member said. The new hires participated in a bus tour of the district, mentor meetings and were provided schedules for new‑staff week. The first contract day will be Aug. 24; on Aug. 25 the district will hold a welcome‑back ceremony and an all‑staff lunch, followed by mandatory safety training and an employee wellness and benefits fair for staff and vendor outreach.
Staff invited board members to attend the welcome events and said the updated schedules and onboarding materials are available in board documents and new‑staff packets.
