The HR committee for the Watertown Unified School District on Aug. 17 voted to forward its consent agenda to the full school board, asking the board to approve multiple recent hires and personnel changes.
A committee member summarized the personnel packet and said the district has worked to fill positions after a record 39 openings this year, including targeted recruitment for special education paraprofessionals. "We will have a couple other additions to the consent agenda, at least one other resignation," the committee member said, noting staff expect further updates before the Aug. 24 board meeting. The committee moved and seconded a resolution to recommend the consent agenda; members voted in favor to forward it.
The consent packet includes staffing changes and recent hiring activity following walk‑in interview sessions held Aug. 6–7, which produced candidates for several openings. Staff said some offers remain pending and that any items added after publication will be marked with an asterisk on the board packet. The committee also approved a motion to enter closed session for personnel matters later in the meeting.
