Bradley County to offer multiple county-owned parcels for sale, Tax Committee sets minimum bids

The Bradley County Tax Committee voted Feb. 25 to set minimum bid prices for a group of county-owned parcels and recorded the recommendations for the March 2 commission consent agenda, which the commission approved.

County Attorney Crystal Freiberg presented new and previously advertised parcels and the committee approved minimum bid prices by unanimous vote. Examples recorded in committee minutes include setting a minimum bid of $2,500 for a Lakeview Drive SE parcel (assessed market value $3,900), minimum bids of $174.33 up to $1,800 for several South Ocoee Street (Blue Springs Road) parcels, and minimum bids for previously advertised parcels such as Ridgeview Circle NW (minimum $500) and 1407 Wildwood Lake Rd SE (minimum $750). Freiberg said the committee was setting the minimum bids based on assessor values and committee guidance.

"Freiberg presented for review new county owned property located on Lakeview Drive SE (map and parcel 058 O D 002.00), noting a minimum bid of $554.45 and Assessor's full market value of $3,900.00," the minutes record. The Tax Committee motions to set the recommended minimums were approved unanimously and were included on the March 2 consent agenda that the full Commission approved.

Next steps: the parcels will be advertised for sale according to county procedures and the Tax Committee record and county office filings will show final advertised terms and sale dates.
