Superintendent Francois said prior events had been managed with no major incidents and that net proceeds have generated "tens of thousands of dollars" for volunteer student service groups and district needs.
Member Kelly Datka said she opposed allowing alcohol on school grounds and raised concerns about staff and volunteer manpower. Dr. Francois responded that student participation is voluntary and that neighboring districts have granted similar exceptions. After discussion the board directed the superintendent to maintain the status quo and authorized him to grant limited, case-by-case waivers when appropriate.
