Middle school reports STAR testing results, RtI supports and upcoming 5th-grade camp

Kris Wallace, middle school principal, reported that the middle school completed STAR testing and identified students who could benefit from additional math and reading supports. Wallace said parent contacts were made and students began RtI (Response to Intervention) routines this past week.
Wallace also described active student council planning around homecoming dress-up days and school spirit activities. The principal told the board that preparations for the 5th-grade day camp are underway and that the camp is scheduled for Oct. 9 and 10.
The board received the update as part of the principals' reports; no formal action was recorded on the items presented.
