Middle School Principal Kris Wallace reported Oct. 8 that the middle school completed its annual evacuation drill and introduced a new 5th-grade teacher.
"The middle school successfully completed our annual evacuation drill. Communication to family was sent in advance of the drill and staff provided discussion with students in WYN classes. Things went well and students were respectful and safe throughout the drill," Wallace said. She added that Zack Clark has joined the 5th-grade team and that 5th-grade camp at Camp Wapo was taking place that week; Wallace also noted the first night of parent-teacher conferences had been successful while attendance on the second night lagged because of competing sporting events.
The report provided a status update on safety practices, staffing and grade-level programming; no policy changes or budget requests were recorded in the minutes.
