Superintendent highlights stronger middle-school belonging, state qualifiers and spring arts lineup

Superintendent Ms. Roemer told the board on Feb. 18 that the district has seen improvements in student engagement, citing a "6 point increase in sense of belonging on the Middle School Panorama survey." She presented several recognitions and upcoming events for district students.
Roemer announced that the high school cheer team will compete at state in Green Bay and that wrestlers Rusty Hamilton and Phoenix Coughlin are scheduled to compete at the state wrestling tournament on Feb. 26. She also noted the SM state championship basketball team from 1976 celebrated its 50th anniversary at a recent game and promoted upcoming Performing Arts Center events, including the SMHS production of Hello Dolly on March 13–15; tickets are available on the PAC webpage or at the door.
