Board tables proposed 2026-27 and 2027-28 school calendars

Principal Foster presented the proposed calendars for 2026-27 and 2027-28, noting, "The 2026-27 calendar is one day short of the 190-day teacher contract, and the 2027-28 calendar is short by three days." Board member Kelly Datka raised questions about alignment with feeder districts and the requirement that students attend virtually on inclement-weather days. After discussion, Datka moved to table the calendars and Doug Schwartz seconded; the motion carried with all ayes.
The administration said it hopes to adjust the calendars to include additional professional learning days for staff and to better align with feeder districts where possible. The calendars will return to the Board for action once dates and minute counts are reconciled.
