Superintendent highlights CPR training, community grants and staff awards

Roemer said the district "are grateful to Jimmy Dorangrichia, a retired SM Firefighter and Building Sub, who taught CPR to 175 eighth graders this week." She also reported that SM Legacy awarded two grants: one to the high school music department to help purchase a trailer for transporting instruments and equipment, and one to a second-grade group at Lakeview to support the Lakeview Learning Garden in partnership with We Got This Garden. Roemer listed recent "You Crushed It" award winners from multiple schools and congratulated student athletes, including Rusty Hamilton for finishing fourth at the state wrestling meet.
These recognitions reflect recent extracurricular and community partnership activity; the grants will support transportation logistics for music programming and an educational garden project at Lakeview Elementary.
