County clinic reports staffing dips, billing changes and insurer prior‑auth barrier

County community services staff presented a monthly clinic update that included staffing shortages, reporting adjustments and recent revenue figures. The presenter said the team reverted to prior reporting methods for prescribers after discovering the new formula did not work; they also reported two vacant case‑aide positions and counselor and nurse shortages in February–April. "For March, we billed out 19,137. Our cost for the services provided was 4,478," the presenter said, also citing April revenue and costs.

Staff highlighted a specific access problem with a major insurer: "UnitedHealthcare is requiring prior authorizations, or referrals from primary care physicians for behavioral health services," the community services presenter said, noting many clients lack primary‑care physicians and staff are liaising with the insurer and with off‑site staff (Jay) to address the issue.
