Conservation advisory committee to expand website with interactive map, project list and QR access

Committee members outlined changes they want on the CAC web page to improve transparency and public access. Proposals included a clear map showing participating subdivisions and HOA contributions, a projects section with upcoming and completed projects (including how conservation funds were used), links to partner resources (Idaho Native Plant Society, University extension, Firewise, local weed-control maps), and a QR code on printed materials and pamphlets to drive residents to the site. One member argued transparency helps residents understand the $5-per-lot assessment and suggested a short table or map showing current participation counts.

Staff said the city can host subpages and cross-link to parks pages; a web-staff sign-off and internal approvals are needed before publishing. The CAC agreed to gather recommended links and content and return a consolidated set of website edits for the Oct. 8 meeting. "The easiest thing to do is put a pamphlet... The easiest thing to do is put a QR code," one committee member suggested as a simple outreach step to increase engagement.
