Council approves waivers and land-development plan for Ridge Street townhomes

Council reviewed Opportunity Construction's preliminary and subdivision land-development plans for a two-phase townhome project on Ridge and Adams streets. The application requested six waivers (preliminary plan subdivision, residential density limit, minimum right-of-way widths, driveway spacing/radii and lighting requirement). Mr. Segina said four waivers addressed driveway placement that was not included in earlier plans, and council noted existing lighting on Ridge and Adams as a reason to waive the lighting requirement.

Mr. Segina explained the project will proceed in two phases and said, "They are primarily looking at approving both phases, but right now, they're only going to be working on the first Ridge Street phase." Vice President Woods moved to approve the waivers and the land-development plan with conditions from Tri-County and HRG; council approved both the waivers and the plan unanimously.
