Crazy Horse School Board accepts $4.005 million initial grant for 2026–27 school year

The Crazy Horse School Board on July 8 unanimously approved acceptance of an initial grant award totaling $4,005,089 for the 2026–2027 school year.

Member Valerie Adams moved and Vice President Cornell Conroy seconded the motion “to approve and accept the Initial Grant Award for School Year 2026-2027, Grant #A26AV00591, in the total amount of $4,005,089, including ISEP funding of $2,360,020, Transportation funding of $743,152, Tribal Grant Support funding of $826,717, and FACE funding of $75,200.” The motion passed 5–0.

The award package listed four line items: ISEP $2,360,020; transportation $743,152; Tribal Grant Support $826,717; and FACE $75,200. Board members did not identify offsets or reallocation requirements during the vote; no opposing votes or abstentions were recorded. The board chair signed the meeting minutes and the superintendent, James Bagwell, served as recording secretary.

Board members said the funding will be included in the 2026–27 budget and will support the programs listed in the grant award. The board did not specify additional conditions beyond acceptance and recorded no amendments to the award during the meeting.
