Consultant outlines seven plan elements and invites station-by-station feedback

Rebecca Leonard, the consultant from Lionheart Places, guided attendees through seven main elements of the draft comprehensive plan visible on station boards, including vision and goals, a stakeholder-engagement recap, future land use categories and map, transportation/street sections and thoroughfare plan, ped-and-bike connectivity, focused vision site plans for potential catalyst sites, a culture and economic development map, and an implementation matrix. "There's really 7 main elements of the plan that we have here tonight for y'all to comment on," Leonard said, and she noted boards include imagery and some metrics to help attendees interpret the options.

Leonard and staff indicated they would staff each board to answer questions about how maps were developed and what the categories mean; she also pointed attendees to a QR code that links to the full draft document and an online comment tool. Leonard told the room the next formal steps are ZAPCO on Jan. 7 and City Council on Jan. 20, and she encouraged brief one-on-one dialogue at the stations so participants could return to other evening commitments.
