Board previews draft Board–Superintendent operating agreements, proposes policy workgroup

Superintendent Dr. Hattrick presented a draft of the 2025–26 Board–Superintendent Operating Agreements and worked with board members to refine roles and procedures. The draft is intended to clarify how urgent policies move to the full board, how revised policies are placed on consent for first and second reads, and how hot-topic policies are elevated as action items on regular-session agendas.

Under the proposed process the superintendent, board secretary and a policy workgroup of board members would review OSBA policy updates before they come to the full board, freeing work sessions to focus on other topics. Board approval of the process was identified as a next procedural step to occur at a regular meeting.
