Board approves 2026–27 budget calendar and hears multiple informational updates

Simmons moved and Vice President DeFord seconded approval of the 2026–27 budget calendar; the board approved the calendar by roll call vote, 6-0. The minutes record the budget calendar approval as a formal action intended to schedule upcoming budget work for the district.

During the information/discussion portion of the meeting the board heard an update from the Recreation Center Committee workshop, discussed potential collaboration on a community center with Cudahy and St. Francis school districts, received school improvement plan updates from the high school, E.W. Luther Elementary and Rawson Elementary, and reviewed first readings of revised policies 363, 412 and 421. The board also discussed the spring election timeframe, Student Representative policy considerations, WASB January convention attendance and received the 2025–26 quarterly budget report. Ms. Williams previewed upcoming agenda items; announcements included reminders about the Little Shop of Horrors production and middle school robotics.
