Conservation commission objects to garage location inside 100-foot wetland buffer at 3 Pages Lane

David Jordan of Greenman-Pederson Inc. told the Atkinson Conservation Commission the owner of 3 Pages Lane wants to construct a detached garage and that "the only location acceptable for the garage is at the end of the driveway which already sits within the 100 ft wetland buffer." Jordan said a wetland scientist reviewed the site and the area is currently grass.

Chair Bill Steele and Member Jeff Nenart questioned the placement. Steele said he was concerned the proposed structure would sit about 35 feet from the wetland, and Nenart said he believed other locations on the property could avoid a variance. Steele said the commission will draft a letter to the Zoning Board of Appeals outlining those concerns; Jordan said he would relay the commission's comments to the owner. The applicant has submitted a variance application to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
