Board approves Geotab telematics, amends resolution to correct budget amount

The St. Lawrence County Board approved a resolution authorizing Geotab telematics devices, forward-facing cameras and related fleet hardware, and modified the 2026 budget to fund the project. During discussion the board approved an amendment to change the dollar amount in the resolution from $4,000 to $15,100 to reflect the correct portion of the current fiscal year, and the amended resolution carried on roll call.

Presenters said the package includes camera views at multiple parking-lot sites and that a small number of blind spots would remain. One legislator moved the correction after staff explained the $4,000 figure was an older iteration saved in the document; "We had calculated 15,100, accurately to represent a portion of this year," staff said. The board then conducted a roll call on the amendment and later the original resolution; both passed.
