District report finds performance gaps in accelerated-instruction programs (2023–2025)

Angie Reeder, State/Federal Curriculum Director, presented the district's Evaluation of Accelerated Instruction Programs and reported performance gaps in Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science for the 2023'2025 period. The presentation summarized where accelerated-instruction supports did not close learning deficits and framed campus-level targets for the coming year.

Reeder described the evaluation as an overview of student performance across grade bands and subjects and recommended that campuses use targeted interventions aligned to the South Elementary Targeted Improvement Plan. The board received the report during the meeting; the minutes record no formal vote on the presentation itself. Superintendent Lesia Lewis also reviewed upcoming district dates while the board considered next steps for aligning instruction with identified gaps.
