Board approves transportation contract with DNH Enterprises setting per-mile and hourly rates

The Watertown Unified School District Board of Education authorized the administration to enter into a transportation contract with DNH Enterprises Inc. The motion, presented as Resolution 95-37, specifies contract terms the board read into the record: "All regular routes, shuttles, and transfers shall be reimbursed at $6.06 per certified mile," extracurricular trip mileage not to exceed $50 per mile, in-district extracurricular trips reimbursed at a rate not to exceed $57.26 for the first hour, and a driver hourly rate not to exceed $25.13 after the first hour. The contract term language in the resolution sets an initial period through 07/31/2026 with a general contract period described to about 07/31/2031 and monetary reopenings after 07/01/2026.

The resolution also states the district will pay contracted fuel per documented mile and agreed the district will pay up to 50% of the increased cost of required umbrella liability insurance if invoiced by the vendor (the transcript includes an uncertain transcription for the insurance amount). The board moved, seconded, and adopted the resolution by roll call.
