Burnet County approves Lonestar Faith LLC as new EMS provider; multiple Health & Safety Code items passed

Burnet County commissioners voted unanimously on Aug. 25 to approve Lonestar Faith LLC’s application to operate as an EMS provider in the county under Texas Health & Safety Code §773.0573. Joshua Devine, representing Lonestar Faith, addressed the court during consideration of the item.

The agenda recorded a sequence of motions implementing required determinations under state law (three subordinate motions recorded in the packet), followed by a final motion to approve Lonestar Faith's application. Each recorded vote was 5-0. Attachments in the meeting packet include the Health and Safety Code citation, a medical director letter and other application materials. The court’s finding form in the packet notes determinations required by statute including that the proposed service will not adversely affect existing providers and that it will remedy an existing provider shortage where appropriate.

Separately, the court also approved an interlocal amendment concerning an ambulance purchased with HB 3000 grant funds to transfer possession to the City of Burnet, under terms that make the City responsible for maintenance and registration. Those combined actions adjust the county’s EMS landscape and provider responsibilities.
