Code enforcement seeks new combined heating/cooling for Borough Hall; two bids presented

Code Enforcement Director Christopher Kaiden asked council to consider replacing inefficient wall and window units in the Borough Hall administration, code enforcement, and borough manager offices with a combined heating and cooling system. Kaiden said the proposed system would also improve heating efficiency in winter and described prior installations in the truck bay and third floor.

Kaiden presented two contractor proposals: Jeff Paul Plumbing & Heating for $27,075.00 and C&S Residential LLC. for $12,310.00. He noted both contractors are proposing identical equipment and that the quotes do not include exterior wall repairs, which would require a separate contractor. Council discussion focused on timing and whether the work could be phased to prioritize offices used most frequently.
