Tinicum adopts revised conservation‑easement process; public‑comment window lengthened

The board voted to adopt a revised conservation‑easement process prepared by the Tinicum Land Preservation Committee. Dan Allman, LPC chairman, described the revisions as updates to older documents and a reordering of steps to make the process clearer for landowners. He and LPC members said they removed wording that might discourage applicants, clarified the evaluation worksheet and updated procedural items.

Cindy Gaspari of the LPC (introduced at the meeting as the committee’s secretary) noted the township’s open-space fund and the committee’s intent not to "throw roadblocks" at landowners considering easements. Board members discussed including language noting that donations are an option and settled on allowing staff and LPC members to discuss donation options one-on-one with landowners. The board amended the draft to change two public‑comment paragraphs from two weeks to four weeks before adopting the revised process.

Board members praised the LPC’s work and asked staff to ensure the revised materials and brochures are available to prospective easement donors and applicants.
