Board hears that May 13 transfers increased ‘professional services’ by about $158,000

Aaron Nunn, introduced on the agenda as the presenter, told the board the district’s May 2026 fund-10 report shows a single batch of internal transfers executed May 13 totaling “over $450,000.” He said the district posted the transfers under one batch ID and that they include reallocations into professional services lines.

“Within that batch, the secondary education line item for professional services shows a total increase of a $138,000,” Aaron Nunn said, and he added a separate $20,000 transfer designated for the Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technology Center, which brings the total professional-services increase to about $158,000. He listed corresponding reductions: $60,000 from special-education tuition, $55,000 from life-skills support, about $23,000 from student transportation and more than $12,000 from student psychological services.

Board members asked how the professional-services category is used. A board member said the label can cover a range of third-party contractors; the superintendent (the administration’s presenter) replied that “professional services is a broad range and category,” and that itemized accounting would be required to show specific payees. The transcript records the numbers as they appear in the district’s May 2026 budgetary transaction report; the presenter said he was “not asking for a response” and was reading the documented entries.

The board did not take separate action on the transfers during the presentation; the item served as a factual financial report to the board.
