District highlights 3‑D brain model and grant‑funded weight room in good‑news reports

Superintendent described a project in which Jensen Nielsen constructed a 3‑D printed brain used as a teaching tool in staff trainings led by Dr. Douglas, saying it ‘‘was used in the presentation with the staff last week.’’ Dr. Douglas spoke about using the model to illustrate brain anatomy and trauma impacts during staff training. The superintendent also reported a fully grant‑funded weight room for student physical‑education and athletics that the district expects to use in PE and extracurricular programs: "This is 100% grant funded work."

Superintendent and board members framed the items as examples of using creative grant funding for targeted improvements while noting the district still will need a bond for large capital projects such as a new high school.
