French warned that once a stop is established it is difficult to remove and that each additional stop can significantly increase run time and reduce service viability. "Once you have a stop, it's impossible to get rid of that stop," he said, urging careful consideration of stop frequency versus overall run time. Katie reiterated safety concerns and added that planners should examine full-train lengths and crew-change interactions to avoid operational conflicts with freight yards and to ensure safe boarding and alighting.
