Superintendent reports new scissor lift, partial LED gym upgrades and summer‑school funding plan

Scott, who identified himself by name during board discussion, told the board the district purchased a scissor lift expected to arrive the next day, noting it will reach the areas the district needs. “We did the school just purchased a new lift,” Scott said, and he said the old lift’s disposition will be determined once the new unit arrives.

Scott also reported partial conversion of gym lighting to LED and described possible approaches to updating board policy, including forming a small policy review committee with the superintendent, business manager and two board members and comparing policies to ASBSD/PASC recommendations. He said the district is considering a short summer‑school session using available grant funds and noted there is approximately $12,000 in state grant money that would need to be used before the end of June.

Board members discussed timing and potential funding mixes and agreed administration should return with more concrete dates and cost details at the next meeting.
