Superintendent Roemer highlights AP gains, industry credentials and warns of federal funding losses

Superintendent Roemer told the board the district’s AP Psychology scores exceeded state norms and publicly recognized teacher Kelsy Brinkman and the students for the result. Roemer said the class of 2025 earned 208 industry credentials (up from 169 the previous year) and 527 college credits.

Roemer also briefed trustees on the newly approved state budget and federal developments that will affect district revenue. She said the state budget includes increased special education funding and additional revenue limit authority but reflects a reduced state aid amount; she added that a federal restriction froze expenditures above $175,000 and that the district is anticipating a $135,000 reduction in Title I funding. Roemer said preliminary district budgeting shows those state increases will be roughly offset by reduced federal support, and the administration is pursuing long-term fiscal planning and pre-funding options.
