Landscape architect outlines master-plan phases for Hogan Pankaus botanic-garden concept

A member of the public, Justin DiPietro, introduced himself as an associate principal and landscape architect with Davis Partnership Architects (Denver) and outlined a proposed master-planning process for the Hogan Pankaus property.

DiPietro said Boulder Botanic Gardens intends to engage his firm for a two-phase planning process: an initial 4'6-week information-gathering phase to compile site history, environmental conditions, zoning and existing proposals, followed by a 4'6-month master-planning phase that would translate that information into a conceptual vision, diagrams and three-dimensional imagery. "Boulder Botanic Gardens intends to engage Davis partnership architects to undertake a thoughtful master planning process to envision a botanic garden at the Hogan Pankaus property," DiPietro said. He emphasized stakeholder engagement and the formation of a tribal advisory council as central components of the proposed process.

Board members and staff acknowledged the public comment and clarified that the item would be a discussion this month and come back as an action item in September for the formal process and any decisions about public land and permitting.
