Public-works director reports staffing certifications, clarifier repairs and Edmond Estates progress

Wade, the public-works director, updated the council on routine water and wastewater operations and recent project progress. He said Austin passed his Grade 3 water exam and Will passed the Grade 2 wastewater exam; Andrew narrowly failed a wastewater exam. Wade reported the clarifier No. 1 deflector and bar-screen rake had been redesigned and installed and that crews have temporarily stored a few loads of sludge to make room for ongoing work.

On street and subdivision work, Wade said EP Concrete will fill a void under a sidewalk outside the bank and finish sidewalk repairs, and he said Edmond Estates has most streetlight poles installed and stop signs placed so final grading will allow new-house construction to proceed. He also noted a recurring problem with Tapco block lights not communicating across sides and that he will collect serial numbers and request vendor tech support.

Councilmembers asked about the reuse of refurbished transformers and the timeline for lighting fixes; Wade said he would gather serial numbers and coordinate vendor support.
