Operations committee reviews consent items, notes personnel changes and travel implications for athletics

During the meeting the chair read several consent and informational items: a resignation of the girls basketball coach, a recommendation to hire Neil Wilkins as lead cook, a recommendation to add an additional high school volleyball coach because of student participation, Westview elevator service, and second/final policy review (including anti-grooming policies).

A committee member asked, "When we go to an additional team, what does that change as far as travel? Will that increase?" The chair responded that there would be some increased travel but explained that if the opponent also provides transportation the district may only need one bus; however, independent travel (for example on Saturdays) and additional costs such as referees could still occur.

The committee did not act on these consent items in operations; they were presented as part of the consent/information list to be handled at the appropriate meeting or agenda step.
