Whitehall updates facilities, readies students for fall athletics

Staff member (S2) told the Whitehall School District board the district completed multiple summer facilities projects designed to improve building comfort and support fall athletics. "We've now reinstall those," S2 said of high-school roof vents, adding, "It's so much cooler in the morning, stays so much cooler throughout the day." The work included reinstalling engineered exhaust vents on the high-school roof, refinishing all three gym floors, and replacing lobby flooring.

S2 credited custodial and facilities staff for a busy summer of projects and said the finishing touches — painting and siding — were about 90% complete. The presenter also noted the district received TIF funding that helped pay for facade improvements and encouraged the public to attend the Booster Club’s purple-and-gold scrimmage (volleyball at 4:30 p.m.; open football practice 4:30–6 p.m.; meal at 6:30 p.m.).
