Commission approves generator planning, gas-line installs and several routine county actions

County attorney and staff walked commissioners through planned generator replacements and an alternate bid item for a new switch; the project budget lines shown in the meeting materials included about $97,000 without a switch and just over $100,000 with switch replacement, prompting commissioners to accept an alternate bid for the switch to secure a warranty.

The commission also approved a Spire contract to meter the Coroner's building ($493) and authorized an estimated $15,000 installation for gas service to the Sheriff's SWAT building at the road-department campus. Other routine items approved included surplus and disposal of broken equipment, renewal of a $3,825 annual Virtual Academy Solutions subscription for the sheriff's office (paid from earmarked funds), donation of a 2004 travel trailer to the town of Raglan, and multiple board appointments.

Staff also reported that records scanning and a GIS MOU are progressing; commissioners asked staff to make the GIS data request less burdensome for water authorities so they will share necessary line-location information for emergency planning without exposing sensitive details publicly.
