Engineer reports paving progress, Kettle Creek letting pushed to Dec. 5

County Engineer Clay reported that the pavement crew has been paving in the Pine Mountain area and will move to Cutover Road and Show Creek Valley. He said base crews completed Kettle Creek Road project preparations and that dense-grade and paving work for several county-sponsored A-Trip projects will begin the week of Sept. 1.

Clay said a letting for the Kettle Creek project was delayed: "that project has been backed up to the December 5 letting. It won't be letting September 25, like originally scheduled," he reported. He also said the CMAQ-funded Sandy Road/411 intersection project is currently scheduled for a June 2027 letting, and cautioned environmental approvals (including a beaver-dewatering plan) must be completed before some utility relocations can proceed.

Commissioners discussed the limited contractor pool and timing impacts on other projects; Clay said US Fish and Wildlife will supply culvert materials and a contractor will install them for the Evergreen culvert replacement, with county base crews handling site preparation.
