Board adopts 2026–27 budget after public hearing; district projects modest fund balance

The Enumclaw School District board voted to adopt the 2026–27 budget (Resolution 1182) following a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke.

Kyle Fletcher, who presented the budget for the district business office, said the general fund projections include $90,717,720 in revenues and $89,351,008.41 in anticipated expenditures. "We're projecting $90,717,720," Fletcher said during his presentation, adding the plan assumes an estimated beginning fund balance of about $11.5 million and an ending fund balance increase of roughly $365,000 under current assumptions.

Fletcher outlined the district's five-fund structure and emphasized the central role of state apportionment and the local educational programs and operations (EP&O) levy in supporting day-to-day operations. He noted that approximately 83% of general-fund spending goes to staffing, including salaries and benefits, and that the budget includes potential interfund transfers that would be evaluated during the year.

After the hearing the chair called for a motion to adopt Resolution 1182; the chair recorded a motion from Director Stouffer and a second from Director Mason. The chair called the question and the voice vote passed with 'Aye' and no recorded opposition, and the budget was adopted.
