Board hears proposal for opt-in digital mental-health screening from RBHI

During the middle- and high-school report, Slater summarized conversations with RBHI (referred to in the meeting as the Bridal Behavioral Health Institute) about a digital screening and support model for students and families. He said RBHI serves roughly 75 schools across 27 counties and provides digital screening that leaders said increases disclosure rates compared with face-to-face screening. "They told me they were nonprofit... they're grant funded through the Department of Health Human Services primarily," Slater said.

Slater said the district is considering RBHI but emphasized any implementation would follow board policy and be opt-in: "If we do, it will be an opt in system according to the board policy." Board members asked about whether RBHI would be onsite or provide telehealth; Slater said RBHI would initially come for set-up and training, then operate telehealth services and local staff would coordinate referrals. The board did not take formal action and asked for follow-up details if the district pursues a contract or pilot.
